Master of Ceremonies (MC) ~ Paul Lemelin

Paul Lemelin – Two-time Canadian Grand Master Fiddle Champion, Paul Lemelin, has been playing the fiddle sine the age of 4, and has been competing since the age of 8.

At home, Paul works as a Mechanical Design Technologist for Vale Exploration. He enjoys teaching the fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and piano as well as being a father of 3 boys and 1 daughter.

Paul has won many competitions including first place in the Open category in Sturgeon Falls, Chelmsford, Richmond and three wins in Pembroke, Ontario. Paul was first invited to compete at the Canadian Grand Masters in 2006 and has since been invited to compete every year since 2010. The highlight of Paul’s career came in 2014 when he won the CGM, followed immediately by a win in Pembroke, a feat only achieved 3 times before. More recently, Paul has repeated a second win of the Canadian Grand Masters in 2021.

 

House Fiddler ~ Leo Stock

Leo Stock - Leo Stock began step dancing at the age of 5. Over the years, he has developed a unique style of step dancing that is as technical as it is high-energy.

A highly awarded dancer, Leo is a three-time Canadian Open Step Dance Champion and a three-time Ontario Open Step Dance Champion. In 2020, drawing on his experience in American clogging and even tap, Leo placed in the top 4 in All That! Best of the Best Percussive Dance Contest, with contestants from around the world.

Leo, also a fiddle player and multi-instrumentalist, has been performing since the age of 11. He has been a regular member of the Scott Woods Band since the age of 13, and, in 2022, he was a cast member in the Drayton Entertainment musical production of Sorry, I’m Canadian 2.

Leo teaches step dance and clogging lessons from his home in Stratford, Ontario, and enjoys working with dancers of all levels.

House Pianist ~ Melika Lemelin

Melika Lemelin – Melika is a highly respected pianist and accompanist based in Sudbury, Ontario.

Self-taught and passionate about traditional, bluegrass and country music, she has been playing piano since the age of 15 and is renowned as one of Ontario’s most sought-after house pianists for fiddle and stepdance competitions.

Since 2013, Melika has served as a house accompanist for the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Championship (CGMFC), a prestigious event celebrating Canada’s top fiddlers.

Beyond her musical endeavours, Melika has contributed to the music community by teaching at various music camps across Canada such as Algomatrad, the CGM camp, KLKP, FiddlyNess.

In her professional life, Melika has built a successful 22-year career in the financial sector. She is also a dedicated mother to four beautiful children. In her spare time, Melika shares her passion for motorcycles by teaching a motorcycle safety course at a local college. She enjoys riding motorcycles with her family, playing slo-pitch and dancing.

Melika Lemelin’s multifaceted life reflects her deep commitment to music, community and family, making her a cherished figure in the fiddle community.

 

Sound/Lighting Technician ~ Eamonn Doyle

Eamonn Doyle ~ Eamonn is an audio engineer and producer from Oshawa who has long been involved in multiple production roles. He has many years of professional experience working in television broadcasting, audio recording, and live sound production. Currently, Eamonn works in ministry as associate director of programs, technology and communications in Toronto which includes the responsibilities of working as director and executive producer for two large-scale conferences in the GTA (for youth and young adults). Eamonn is a father of five young children and enjoys playing guitar and golf (not at the same time) and spends his spare time camping with his family and watching his kids play soccer. Eamonn is very excited to be sound and light technician for the Ontario Open Fiddle & Step Dance Contest.
